Fuel Surcharge

Up to date fuel prices and applicable surcharge

Unfortunately with the current undulating fuel prices, it's become necessary to implement a fuel surcharge for all trips to recoup some of the extra costs.

Current charges - February 2012

Our fuel surcharge is currently set on a per customer basis.  This will differ depending on when the original rates were agreed.  You should already have information regarding your latest surcharge.

A Brief History

Fuel prices have always been a large chunk of any transport costs but since January 2007 the price of diesel in the UK and Europe has steadily risen and is 28% higher in March 2008.  (Source: Derived from prices charged by IDS)

These rises continued throughout 2008, peaking during June/July 2008, some 73% higher!  Since then, they have fallen erratically, in fact prices this February are the same as they were in February 2008, indicating that we were past the worst of it.

In November 2009 prices have again risen, to the same as they were at the end of 2008 and appear to be steadily climbing.
